Mauro Libi: Success starts with self discipline

Dwayne Johnson, many of you better know him as the 'Rock' is a true success story. In 1995 he had seven bucks in his pocket. He is quoted as saying at that time that he knew two things.

1. He is broke as hell. 2. One day he will not be.

He knew that he had to make changes in his life to change his direction. That meant he had to evaluate what was standing in the way of his success and get rid of those obstacles. Look into your company and see what is holding you back from achieving your goal.

Next he accepted responsibility for his mistakes and he found that over time he could gain control of those situations and turn those loses into wins. To do this he had to focus on his goals and objectives and next he had to put in the effort required to reach those goals. He is quoted as saying, "consistent hard work brings success". As he did that he found that each day he had more and more control of his own success. Success seldom just happens, it's takes, thought, hard work, constant reevaluation of your circumstance and taking responsibility, it takes realizing that you do have control of the situation.

He believed that one of the most important rules of success is to be yourself. Success starts with self discipline, it starts with yourself. If you really want  to succeed you will find a way, whether it is more education, better research , working out, if you put in the hard work required you will succeed. If you do not put in that effort then all you can expect is to have excuses why things did not go your way. You do have the ability to succeed, find it and do not allow any obstacle or excuse to get in your way of achieving it.

Last, I want to give you a quote from the Rock that you really need to think about and make it yours. " When you walk up to opportunities door, don't knock on it ...... Kick it in and introduce yourself. " Keep your eyes open for your golden opportunities and be prepared to act on them.

Mauro Libi: If you believe in yourself and in your product so you can be a successful person

There have been many articles written on how a positive frame of mind is necessary for one to be successful in life. It is important to have a positive attitude whether it is in your personal life or in your business life. If you believe in yourself and in your product then chances are so will your friends and customers.

We now will take this one important step further. There is a concept called the "power of the word -yes". You can not and should not sell something to a customer that they do not want or do not need. That is ethically and morally wrong and in the long run, you will lose by doing that. If your customer wants your product and can benefit from it, then it is best to let them become aware of that. Do not try to sell the product to them. Just help them realize the benefits that dealing with you and your company will bring them.

The best way to have them become aware of this is to have them work it out in their mind by asking them questions about their needs and wants and carefully listen to their answer.

Phrase the question in a way  that your customer will always answer yes. An example - never ask them -" If you get this product then you will become do successful. Do you want to pass up that opportunity?" Your customer will have to answer,"No, We do not want to pass up this opportunity." Once a customer answers -No! - to a question then it becomes acceptable for them to say -No!- to you.

It is better to ask them.
"Wouldn't you love to take advantage of this great opportunity? "
Yes!, answers your customer.
"As I already explained, don't you see how our company offers you the best quality product on the market today".
Yes!, answers your customer.
" If we can agree on a price are you ready to sign on today?"
Yes!, answers your customer.

This is called the power of the word -yes! Yes! Yes!
You get your customer used to saying the word -Yes! And it will become a habit for them with you and your company.

The power of the word Yes! Only works in the closing of a sale. Do not try to close a sale till you have convinced your customer and explained everything to them. You need to be sure that they will say -Yes! In their closing answers. If you are not sure of that - you are then not ready to close the deal.

Mauro Libi: How to negotiate when you are not an expert trader

Trading in these complex times require extraordinary skills, especially if the partners belong to other cultures.

The trading rules are varied. At first it is important to understand that everything in the business world can be negotiated. Local businesses looking to expand into the international market should drive the negotiations always based on knowledge of the product to be exported and the market that is intended to penetrate.

Entrepreneurs proposed goals should be to expand, open up new markets, gain more customers. Today's market is a global economy. If you want to make more money, then you must learn how to trade across borders, think globally, and make the necessary adjustments to adapt your operations, to the demands of international markets.

Entrepreneurs seeking international objectives must execute a marketing plan that includes strategies to adapt to new consumer.

Also should set the pricing structure  to each different market by considering aspects such as competition, objectives, demands, exchange rate, local laws, among others, to then decide the final price will place your bid.

International entrepreneurs determine the best distribution channels and maintain product quality. They should evaluate the market segment that gets its offer, which will guide the customer about what they are buying, what can you get, how much it will cost and who offers it.

The legal department is very important at this stage of expansion and should take into account the regulations that each country has to import, what trade agreements the country has signed, with whom and what kind, how commercial instruments work, and what advantages they offer companies looking to leave the borders.

Before starting any type of negotiation, what kind of trading is sought, one in which all parties feel satisfied with the achievements, or one where you win all or lose it all should be established.

Mauro Libi: The consumer must always be satisfied

For a business to be successful consumers should be excited about the product or service they receive. Entrepreneurs must be clear that today's consumer is much more aware of its power, is less loyal to brands and does not hesitate to express their emotions through multiple channels of communication that technology offers today.

Employers should strengthen its efforts to satisfy its customers. Your customers must not only see the value in their association with your company but their experience should have an added value.  When we talk about added value, we refer to the advantages of your product or service, in which you distinguish yourself and far exceed expectations of your customers.

Many experts recommend that companies should monitor daily the customer experience in relation to the product or service in order to improve what is not optimal. That means improving the quality of human resources, since employees are the physical side of our business.

Customer  service and technical support should aim for full satisfaction of customers. Be aware of customer concerns and respond to them in a timely, clear and concrete way; Always be kind and keep controlled in any situation, solve problems diligently review all the criticism, or negative comments. Be honest, face any serious claim, optimize communication and seek feedback on the quality of service or product . In simple words, make your customers happy. If they are not happy, see what it will take to turn that around and satisfy them and do whatever it will take. A happy customer is a loyal customer.

It is advisable to monitor the correct operation of the various gears that make up this circuit satisfaction, provide feedback to each department and take the final decision on the implementation of improvements.

Mauro Libi: Professional success and personal fulfillment

Many have told me that achieving success in a profession is based on personal fulfillment. For some, success is as simple as achieving the goals they’ve set for themselves.

Achieving success in one’s work requires perseverance, work, concentration, and above all, a positive attitude. Your desire to achieve success should motivate you every day. Those who wish to achieve success should strive every day and look for ways to improve their work.

Work must be done ethically, professionally, and with the goal of being the best in the branch. If you meet the assigned functions, this will demonstrate both your initiative and dedication.

The person who seeks success in business must stay focused. Successful people know prioritize and delegate tasks. The goal is to focus on what is most valuable for the business.
From time to time, one should check the actions, the steps that have been taken, to see if they have been efficient in the tasks required to achieve business success.

Take time each day to analyze what has been done, how well it worked and where it can improve. Doing this will help your company or business grow day by day.

Mauro Libi presenta la Fundación Casa Hogar al Fin

Mauro Libi: One second is the difference between success and failure.

Libi: I love baseball. I love going to the stadium. Picture this scenario. The bases are loaded and its the ninth inning. There are two outs. Your team is down by one run. The pitched ball is thrown to the batter and you hit the ball and it goes 390 feet. It looks like a home run. Your team is going to win the game. Suddenly a gust of wind blows the ball one inch into the foul zone, one inch flying past the poll in the foul side. One inch to the right and your team would have won the game. But it went one inch to the other side of the pole. Success and failure was based on one inch.

In the business world being successful or failing can be noticing and being able to read the market and acting in it. One day longer can change everything. Constantly ideas come across us everyday and we do not even notice. The successful person learns to sensitive to what the market will desire.

There is a story of the Swiss watch market that controlled the watch industry. In their own marketing and research, their own people came out with digital watches in the 1960's. The Swiss watch company didn't want it. They thought people only want watches with moving hands.  They let their own employees go to a Japanese company and sell their digital watch idea. I'm a few years the Swiss watch company that once controlled the watch industry lost almost the whole market.

They had the idea but they could see the future. They let it go. They could have been a great success with this idea, instead they were became a huge failure.

Successful people learn to sense and see the ideas of the future. Helen Keller once said , Libi, " there is nothing as sad, as one who has eyes, but still can not see."

Mauro Libi: What is the difference between success and failure?

The answer is acting on your ideas and initiatives. This may seem like a simple answer but it is only simple in hindsight.

A successful person constantly looks for ways to be ahead of the competition, looks for ways to be the best. This involves constantly learning and training to be the best in your field. This education and training gives you the ability to think and come up with ideas. An idea doesn't do you any good if you do not act on it. However acting on something new is a risk.  It's never been tested. It may not be accepted by the public. But if you believe in your idea, action is not enough. You have to excite your customers or the general public about your idea.

Apple I-phones and its generic cell phone company competition are always looking for new innovations. They always try to come up with new technology first. At the same time for months before their new idea is marketed, they do everything possible to excite the public about the new and coming product.

The company that will be most successful is the one that is willing to take the risks in being the first because if it is successful, it's success can be amazing.

In the real world coming out with this latest technology months after your competition, can result in failure. So when an idea comes your way and you think it is a good one, it would be imperative to act quickly and get it out first. This would involve proper time management. Time management is a skill that can be learned and trained. It means getting all the steps involved organized quickly and getting your set goal to be reached. When your product is introduced to your customers, you want it to be the best, better than the product that your competition will later come out with. With the proper prior marketing , they will be lining up to buy your product.

In retrospect, successful people are the best educated and they turn ideas into action in a timely organized manner. They know how to properly market themselves and they are not afraid of taking risks.

Mauro Libi: Successful people know that everything have to be done with pride

Success can even be seen while driving a highway. I once was driving on the road and came to a toll booth. The man behind the toll booth had music blasting away and he was singing and dancing. He had the biggest smile and wished me a great evening. This surprised me because I actually never  saw a happy person working in a toll booth. To me they looked like coffins, the people in them would be there for hours and just hand out change bored every night. I started to look for him each night when I went through the toll. One night I asked why he was so happy. He told me that life was good and he was celebrating life and his future. A few months later he stopped working in the toll booth. When I asked about his whereabouts. I found out that he got accepted to medical school and started school.

Here was this guy who had one of the worst jobs one could have and yet, he had a great attitude, he saw a future. Of course one has to realistic. This pre-medical student was. He had bills to pay and had to take a horrible job. Medical school is hard to get into and he had to study hard. But despite all, he saw the good where other people could not. While most people see working a toll booth like being in a coffin, he found it as a time to celebrate and be happy.
Happy people tend to succeed. Successful people know what has to be done to do the best job possible and they do it. They do not just do their job they do it with gusto. The most boring job becomes a reason to be happy. Everything they do, is done with pride.

Can you imagine this guy as a medical student and then later as a medical doctor? He would take such pride in every step of the way. Every step towards his goal of becoming a doctor would be meet with happiness and celebration.

Success is about taking pride in what one does. Having a positive attitude even when things are not going well. Keeping your eye on your goal and doing what it takes to get it done. And if upmost importance , getting the proper training and education to be the very best in your field.

Mauro Libi: How to become a successful businessman

Success is a goal we all want to achieve but have no idea how. There are hundreds of stories of men who have achieved success. If we analyze them all, we come to the same conclusion: Wanting to succeed and working  hard is the key.

Experts say that there are several secret to achieve success in what one intends. Some even say that there is a genetic predisposition to being a business winner but more important to succeeding is your attitude, optimism, knowledge generated through a period of preparation while still formulating your decision on a suitable career.

When people possess extraordinary abilities for decision making, which is linked to the stronger emotional intelligence, it goes tummy a better chance of getting what they wants.

Successful people dream big. These dreams turn into ideas. Acting on those ideas can grow into a million dollar business. To go from idea to action, you must have a sense of direction, which can lead to a strategic roadmap. Accept responsibility for all the decisions you make to reach the goal. Fall in love with what you're doing. If you love what your job and you have a passion for it will get you through the hard times while building your way to success.

Remember that everything you do must be bested than good. Being the best at what you do is the hallmark of successful people. Hard work is a key tool to win the victory. No effort should be spared in the process of creation. No negative thought should be allowed to hold you back.  Efforts should be looking for solutions to problems with creative innovative ideas.

When I tell you to work tirelessly in achieving your goal does not mean you become a slave to your job. The key to true success is leading how to balance your life between work, family, play time and health.

A successful person realizes that he is the most important instrument his company has. If he takes care of his health and allows himself some play or fun time, he will be a more productive, happier person. Happy people are more energetic. Their brains work clearer and ideas flow more freely.

A happy family man has less interruptions. Running a business while your personal life is falling apart could never lead to a successful outcome. Neither personally nor in business.

As you get your personal life to be a success it will allow you the time and energy to work at creating the best business company in your field.  Being an expert in your area makes you the best on the market, put emphasis on serving your customers, be honest and learn to prioritize your time to avoid living in chaos. We must make an effort to gain a reputation for efficiency and reliability.

Mauro Libi: Be optimistic, being a visionary is to be successful

There are many successful men who have been through many obstacles on their road to success. Stories abound of their troubled path. One of the world's richest men, Bill Gates unveiled his misfortunes before coming to savor the victory with his company Microsoft.

Gates has said in his public presentations that positive attitude towards the great social changes of the present time allowed him to reach the pinnacle of success. It is often said that the use of intelligence and positive attitude is the engine that has made some of the world's richest man.

Gates invested many days and years in the process of inventing the software. Only stopping to eat and get some sleep. His focus was on a target. He was going to make his vision a reality and he was sure he was going to achieve.

In an interview published in the country of Spain, Gates said his success was due to acting on business decisions that later became good, but initially was seen as risky and sometimes crazy.

Your company should be the best in its market and make it known to your customers that you are the best. This is very important. That means making a consumers promise of a high quality that the other companies can not offer. Bill Gates knew that to fulfill their brand promises of superiority then  his team would work more hours and work hard to meet the challenges that initially seemed impossible.

Bill Gates admitted that "Initially, few people believed that the PC will become an unprecedented success." It took hard work to make it happen.

Effective  communication with employees was and is s key to Microsoft's success story. The line between management and personnel was and still is informal. According to Bill Gates, "Everyone could get into my office if they had a question or concern, an idea for a new product or ideas about what our competitors were doing."

In the history of Microsoft excellence resided in the products they created, the rest was secondary.

They make every effort to keep an efficient structure, using their resources efficiently and avoid waste.

Gates also said his company continues to hire smart people. There is no substitute for that and it's not as easy as it sounds.

Mauro Libi: Is it possible to grow in times of crisis?

To the question it is possible to grow in times of crisis, my answer is always yes. Yes, you can grow and make money in bad times but for that to happen we must bear in mind that the crisis will not disappear because people want to.  Economic  crises are cycles and as such require that you change certain factors.

The first thing to do is take the crisis as a collective responsibility, and not a single sector. The crisis is a result of economic behavior of societies and in which everyone has responsibility to a lesser or greater extent. Many believe that spending money will further aggravate the crisis, but the truth is that this is not true. The solution to the crisis is not to keep the money in savings and to avoid spending money during the bad economic times. This will stagnate growth of the company because the money kept in an account is useless. The money has to be invested to make more, to get the economy moving. We must be conscious and intelligent when it comes to moving money but never let it sit.

There are many professionals who decide to invest in training in times of crisis so that it returns to profit.

It is also advisable to innovate. Putting creativity to work, we must renew the way of thinking and acting, the changes are everyday, and what worked yesterday does not work today. I recommend to be aware of what is happening in society and adapt to changes optimistically.

Your attitude is the engine that drives us. Think positive, losing fears and learn from each failure. Be proactive, do not keep looking at the crisis in the country and do not believe that everything will change for the overnight as if by magic.

Ubícate acts, if you do not know where to start, read, see, for your economic future depends on your own ability, not the government or economic factors in society.

The crisis does not end with tears, complaints or contemplation to action but with human beings doing hard work and using their intelligence.

Mauro Libi: How to motivate your employees to be productive

One of the biggest problems many companies face is the lack of productivity of employees. Although it sounds strange large, medium and small corporations invest heavily to monitor employees to avoid distractions. Companies have implemented policies to increase worker productivity and avoid poor performance.

Some companies are putting more emphasis on guided specific objectives for each employee, with the aim of generating greater interest, allowing them to focus on specific goals. They placed the points to be made specifically and to motivate them to achieve that.

It is recommended to place on the agenda daily, weekly and monthly goals, while maintaining effective communication with employees. With new technological alternatives such as social network can encourage employees and keep them informed quickly.

We must allow employees to express themselves, to express their ideas, and to test their creativity through networks allowing fluid communication between employees and bosses, feedback and generate new ideas and knowledge.

Managers and supervisors should be aware that employees need daily motivation. The new management gives greater importance to the inspiration of the employees which is reflected in higher productivity.

Another element that is necessary to understand the concept of failure is not as the end of the world but it is an opportunity to learn, and an inspirational way to achieve success in the next attempt. If you fail, find out where you went wrong and try again. Do not allow failure to out you  into a state of immobility or fear. We must promote the strategy to overcome the fear of failure as a strategy to find success.

Mauro Libi: How to be an effective person

The big problem of the twenty-first century is time management. Many times we schedule 10 tasks at the same time. At the end of the day we feel frustrated after failing to successfully complete our agenda. What can we do to perform all the tasks we intend to conclude on a daily basis? How can we manage time more efficiently? Successful people do more in less time. They understand the value of time and establish inviolable rules to meet their responsibilities and become more effective.

The first thing is to establish clear priorities and distractions. It is important to be very strict with the use of time, learn discipline and complete goals.

Many people have trouble concentrating. Therefore you should make it mandatory not to be distracted by avoiding chats, networks like Facebook or Twitter, email or phone conversations. Being organized and focus on completing tasks in real time is important if you want to be a successful person.

Another key to success is to be inspired.  Many people spend reading a page or two of something that inspires them.  Reading is a great tool for anyone looking to stand out in the world of business and is good for you personally.

Successful people have learned from their failures. When you fail you learn more than when you do not fail. Failure is an opportunity to begin again. To learn, to keep pouring forward and to adapt to change. Get up and start again. The road will take you to a higher level that will lead to success. Allows us to create an extraordinary ability to restart, insist and persevere is a direct path to victory.

Another tip is to get up early. Successful and productive people get up early and take advantage of these times of greater tranquility.

Attitude is the best ally for success. Using time effectively is a key to success recalling the famous 20-80 rule, indicating that 20% of your work will produce 80% of results.

If you get up early your mind is most clear and you can better organize your ideas and tasks. Doing this will start your day out productive did put you in a better mood got the rest of your day.

Do not waste time because it is the most valuable thing you have. Seize every minute and remember that we must be clear where we are going, that is, the plan to achieve the objectives.

Mauro Libi: How to establish successful business relationships

On many occasions we have discussed in workshops how to build lasting and faithful relationships with customers and suppliers that will last for many years. It is important to note that building relationships are not instantaneous and require constant dedication.

The most important thing is to create and maintain effective communication. Without effective communication there can be no healthy and lasting relationships. We must be clear about the message you want to convey and do it in the most direct way possible.

Satisfying your customers is not enough.  In today's competitive market you have to do more than satisfy. You need to create a fan , a raving fan. A raving fan is a customer that feels that no one else would give them the service as well as you do. They tell all their associates about the care that you have provided and as a result you end off with a lifelong client who refers many other clients to you. To create such a fan in your customers takes much work. This is a win-win. You offer extra work and dedication and you receive a loyal dedicated customer for life. This old  win-win strategy should be the highlight of each office meeting and allow you to establish a strong and lasting base customers that will be key to the success of your  .

Your customers will show gratitude when you hear their changing needs and are willing to compromise on your part and show solidarity with their plans and projects of your customers. Being part of the solution to your customers needs are important to achieve the expected fidelity.

And as always I say the most important of all relationships is the winning attitude, be professional and understand what your strengths are and show them in your actions and deeds.

Really listen to your customers, see their faces, call them and pay attention to details. Remember that your business requires enterprise and productive relationships with clients for which it must develop an effective communication strategy with internal and external audiences, ie, environment is important to the success of your company. Having a successful business is to be a successful entrepreneur.

Even in these hard times, there are employers who bet on Venezuela’s success. Almost a year ago, the Libi Group, through its subsidiary Frimaca offered the domestic market the ability to cool and store more than 10 million kilos of food.

Their specialized industrial logistics operator allows Frimaca customers to know in real time the status of their merchandise through a sophisticated and efficient systematic process. Mauro Libi: Strong Communication

Communication skills are an important key in your road to success. One of the main reasons that people who get divorced  is that their spouse never really listened to them. The spouse may have listened to your words but did they really hear what you were saying. Business and clients are the same as a marriage in this regard. When your client tells you their concerns or what they want, do you really hear what they are saying? Will your client leave and say - this company really cares and will do the best job for me , I want this company and only this company to do my job.

Strong communication is more than just talking. It is mostly about listening. Arrowhead Management once told a story about a patient that went to a new dentist.  The patient came saying that she needed many crowns. She came to this office because her friend Suzzie had her crowns done in this office and she is so happy with them. Suzzie can not stop bragging about the wonderful job that was done. She highly recommended us to do her friends. Then the new patient asked if we would be making the crowns the same way that Suzzie had them made. What would you answer your potential new patient? She is only here because we did crowns on Suzzie and Suzzie loves them.  So the dentist told her - "of course we will make them exactly the same."
The new patient got up to leave and said , "that's a shame because I hate Suzzie's crowns."

Where did we go wrong? This was a huge case and would have brought us a lot of money and possibly more referrals. Where did we fail? We failed because we did not communicate with the client. When the patient asked us if we would make the crowns like Suzzie, we forgot something. This is not Suzzie in the chair. This is a different person. We should have asked her how she liked Suzzie's crowns. When she told us that she hated them because they were too white or too big. Then we could have told her that we made the teeth exactly how the patient wants them. Everyone is different. At that point, we could have discussed how she would like her crowns and what color and we would have had the case.

You see, we answered this new client how we thought she wanted to be answered. We never asked probing questions to see what she really meant by saying ,"will you make my crowns like Suzzie's." She was saying one thing but we heard another thing because we never communicated.

When communicating with a client. Let them do most of the talking. Ask them probing questions.  See their non verbal communication as well as their verbal communication.

Paraphrase, paraphrase, paraphrase. Say things like , "if I hear you correctly" and then repeat what they said. It's funny how clients when they hear what they just said will tell you that is not what they want.  People do not always communicate correctly and their words that come out is not always what they meant to say. Learn to listen to them really well.  If you see them fidgeting then ask them if there is something in the deal that makes them uncomfortable and when they tell you what it is, then deal with it.

It's always about the money.  Make sure that is all its about when you try to close. Ask you client, " if we come up with a dollar amount that we both are happy with, are you ready to close this deal?" Do not try to close a deal, without discussing all the patients objections. The dollar amount is not as important if they decide that they want your company and no one else. So use your listening skills to see if the deal has been closed before you talk money.

Strong communication means really hearing your client in both their verbal and non verbal cues. A strong communicator will succeed and will excel at what they do.
